Fair. No Jacket. 231 pages. Half leather, over spine and corners. Raised spine bands and gilt stamped lettering on leather spine label. Label remains bright and intact. Covers are well worn, and joints of covers at spine are cracked. Hinges (internal) remain strong and cover are attached. Marbled end leaves. Blanks leaves after and before end leaves are torn and show significant wear. Scattered offsetting and foxing throughout, though more severe on the first five plates. The second plate (The Thrush) is damaged with residue of some debris between the face of the plate and the adjacent text leaf. Page 155/56 shows a jagged, horizontal, tear across the center of the page with no paper loss. Otherwise, all text is legible, and about ten of the plates remain good to very good with only light foxing/offsetting. This is a rough, but minimally acceptable copy of a scarce title. Feel free to request photographs if you are interested.
