Accelerated C++ introduces a radical new approach to teaching C++. It starts with the most useful concepts rather than the most primitive ones, so the student can begin writing programs immediately. It describes real problems and solutions, not just language features. And it includes the standard library from the start. The authors proved the effectiveness of this approach in their courses at Stanford and Princeton, where their students learned to write substantial programs their first day in the classroom.

The seller sold a used book as new. The book had the owners name written in the front cover and several notes written in the margins.
I would not trust this seller again.
Regarding the content of the book: mediocre.
I would give it 3 out of 5 stars on content. This is more of an introductory programming book that starts out with HELLO WORLD and not an intermediate programming as some would have you believe. The book is acceptable if you have never programmed before and want a crash course; it is not acceptable as a text if you already program and simply want to learn C++. Many of the examples are too simple. Some of the discussions about programming are quite good. You can do better with alternative learn-by-example books. I am puzzled why this rather lack luster book was chosen to stand beside several truly excellent works in the series.
