This book is an excellent tool for learning how to use Photoshop CS2. It teaches how even the most advanced tools work. What it will not do is teach you cool tricks and effects, though once you know how to use the program you will be able to figure out your own tricks and effects.

Better than the real classroom
I have been taking a course on this program and finding it hard going. I bought the book to see if it would help. The authors really know what they are talking about. I have worked through 12 of the chapters, each taking about an hour - the remaining four were not relevant to what I wanted to do. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and at the end of each chapter you feel you have really learned something. By the time I had finished of course I had forgotten some of the things, but I went back to the beginning and worked through the book again using my own pictures instead of the ones supplied. I now have a really good working knowledge of the program and have recommended the book to others in my real life class.
