This book gives a concise introduction to the main topics of statistical mechanics for a first year graduate student. There are two main reasons I bought this book. Firstly, this book explains and derives the ensemble distributions by using the Pauli master equation which I believe is a plus regarding the traditional treatments by other textbooks. Secondly and most important the price :)
