Near Fine. Book. 4to-over 9¾-12" tall. One of a first edition of 1500 copies. With a frontis and three other illustrations in color, numerous black & white illustrations; and eleven pages with actual cloth samples. xvi, 143 pages, plus the sample sheets. Small 4to. Hardcover, bound in red cloth, beveled edges, top edge gilt. The top edge is very slightly rubbed, otherwise the book is in Fine condition, no writing or markings. No dust jacket, but in a matching red slipcase. An extra sheet with six cloth samples is laid in: "Bookcloth Samples Supplementary to Tomlinson & Masters, Bookcloth 1832-1980." No. 15 of 15 copies, 1997.
