In the beginning, I was very confused because I was not sure who Celeste or Noble were,but as the story unfolded, clarity came through as to who their family were and why Celeste had to be adopted in the first place. Child of Darkness has all the elements of a classic V.C. Andrews novel---- suspense.twists and turns,surprises ---so this one was quite a great read. From the time Celeste's adopted mother started dressing her up provocatively,I knew something was up,and when that did happen,it made me feel sick! An old man seducing a 16-year-old girl just to continue his family blood line? Ugh! I was disappointed as to how the story ended though. It was so abrupt! It was as if Celeste got her hands dirty and then washed them and then moved on,the way she dealt with what happened to her! I know it's fictitious,but still...it could have been much more realistic!
