One of the most difficult things about stats is that you can very easily find yourself analysing data on a high level without really understanding what you are doing. If you want or need to understand the basis for what you are doing with SPSS or similar packages, this is your book. It is extremely clearly written and thus excellent for those who do not have a mathematical basis. As someone who struggled to develop love for stats I can tell you that this book has been great help.
