Maybe it is time to: Stop walking around with blindfolds on The past is our foundation for our present lives and for OUR combined futures. We all need to appreciate that we are the products of generations of past influences. There also needs to be an appreciation of the obvious facts, not all our foundations were always "positive". Historically, there have been "negative" aspects of all history and its the combination of the Positives and the Negatives AND how we deal with them that moulds are current lives. Since the dawn of humanity, there has been - by necessity - a bond between humans and nature, and without an understanding of nature, the ancients would not have survived and left traces throughout our current world. The "Past Influences - Ancient Lessons" are everywhere in our world, but are they understood or ignored? When we stop and look at those traces, there is an unquestionable acknowledgement of what they did and the impact they have had on every aspect of our life, including: -Culture and heritage -Language -Planning & Architecture -Agriculture -Diet & wellness -Education and skills development -Housing -Commerce These are all aspects of sustainability - were they practicing sustainability in the past and we are just rediscovering their innovation? Whilst the world now seems to be awakening to the reality that sustainability is perhaps the biggest single factor affecting global economies, environmental survival management, and human development, there still remains a lot of resistance to change and acceptance of the challenges ahead. 2020 was considered by many as the "Hindsight Year", the year that would give humanity 20-20 vision of our existence. Unfortunately, 2020 bought the world, the global pandemic "Covid19" and the BLM "Black Lives Matter" movement. The global changes have created unrest, uncertainty, disruption, but has it happened before? Have civilisations experienced this before, are there sustainability lessons from our past?Today, it is more important than ever to adopt a Sustainable Motto: ALL LIVES MATTER ALL ENVIRONMENTS MATTER Together change in attitudes is possible. Change is always occurring, and all must adapt.Humanities past is never perfect, but it is collectively our past. Collectively, we all need to learn from our past and remember both the good and the bad foundations. Today, we are challenged to review our present - consider the framework provided by the SDG's and create a sustainable world for the future. TOGETHER FOR ALL
