None. Good Only. Two volumes of Matthew Prior's poetry. A scarce Dublin imprint, this edition was issued following Prior's death and has a memoir of his life as well as his Last Will and Testament. Two volumes bound as one. ESTC No. T75650. Matthew Prior was an English poet and diplomat. He is best remembered for his contributions to 'The Examiner'. This work has a lengthy dedication to the Earl of Dorset and Middlesex. The poems to this work include 'An Epistle to Fleetwood Shephard Esq', 'The Despairing Shepherd', 'To Cloe Weeping', 'The Ladle' and more. A mid eighteenth century copy of Matthew Prior's poetry, in a useful pocket sized format. In a full calf binding. Externally, rubbed to the boards and spine. Front board is detached but present. Rear hinge is tender with cords showing. Prior owner's initials gilt stamped to the front board, A W B. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned with occasional scattered spots.
