Fine in very good dust jacket. Rare hardcover First Edition, Fourth Printing (1967) in Fine/VG++ condition with a VG dust jacket. The covers are in excellent shape with square corners and firm spine caps. The binding is square and tight. Minor abrasion to the front flyleaf. The interior pages are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket shows light shelf wear with a repaired tear at the upper corner of the front panel but remains attractive and in Very Good condition. This foundational text on programming the System/360 was written by the Staff of Computer Usage Company, including Rita Z. Altucher, and edited by Ascher Opler. It provides a detailed analysis of data conversions, which is one of its primary strengths. While it covers system-only instructions, the discussion remains broad and does not necessarily align with the way IBM's operating systems were actually implemented. The text approaches these instructions as if the system were neither multiprogramming nor multiprocessing, though IBM OSes were designed for both.
