Reveals God's love in His discipline
I would recommend this book highly!
I read it before giving it to my daughter who is raising a little boy who is 4 year old.
As a adult I gained much insight into my own besetting problems which were partly due to a lack of childhood discipline.
I appreciated the practical insight and the biblical wisdom that was presented in a hands on way without being legalist.
The author has a wonderful understanding of the ways of the Spirit of God to train and teach a heart.

good teaching on parenting
The book takes the focus of parenting advice back to the Gospel and training your children in a way that points them toward Christ.

A Biblical Philosophy
As a Pastor, I have read many books on raising children, and I have to say that this is by far the most carefully Biblical of all the books I have read on the subject. You will find no Christianized pop-psychology here, and no political correctness. The author's empahsis upon the heart is refreshing, as is his understanding that in these matters, we and our children are in desperate need of the grace of God, and must depend upon Him for victory. One of the very few books on raising children that I can recommend whole-heartedly.
