Famed antiquarian bookseller and collector Bromsen (1919-2005), well known for his specialty in early Spanish colonial manuscripts, established this endowed lectureship. He boldly inscribes and signs the inside front wrapper in black fineline "For Frank Hanlin / on the occasion of his / long-awaited return visit, / with the esteem and good / wishes of his friend, / Maury A.
