good balance between basic concepts and practical considerations. After having done the sound for a middle school musical, I got this book to put some grounding to my experience and hopefully do some of this volunteer work in the future. This book gave me a very nice review of the science and engineering underpinnings of theater sound, and practical approaches to problems, all that I could relate to based on my experience.
