Richard Plant was my German professor at college, so I am inclined to be very positive about his work. In The Pink Triangle he documents the legal, social, and moral onslaught of the regime against homosexuals. the documentation goes a bit overboard in detailing what was done. In that respect there is, for this reader, too much repetition. Plant was himself homosexual yet there is never a sense of a personal vendetta. The book's approach is quite objective and impersonal. The book is, like Plant was, intelligent, wry, witty, and scholarly.
