In St. Louis, after introduction of the Program, the price per half-pint was reduced by approximately one-half in both elementary and high schools In Los Angeles elementary schools, milk was reduced in price about one-third, in high schools, by one-half. At the time the Special Milk Program was initiated in the Los Angeles city schools, the size of the container 9was changed from one-half pint to one-third quart.
