Fair. Two volumes bound as one in contemporary quarter olive leather (spine) and paste-down paper covered boards, 3 ¼ x 5 ½ inches, 191 pp + 240 pp, three fold-out plates in volume 13, one fold-out and three single leaf plates in volume 14, NO MAP(S). Hardcover, fair to good. Boards scuffed, rubbed and chipped, corners bumped with cardboard exposed there and along edges of boards, ½ inch chip off foot of spine, most of spine label chipped off. Internally, front hinge cracked, previous owner's signature, age tanned and foxed, one stub, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp, unmarked. Travels through Egypt, Palmyra, Aleppo, (Syria and Lebanon) Muscovy, Russia, Persia.
