Jack was a Senior Scientist at the Mesoscale Microscale Meteorology Division at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) at Boulder, Colorado, a position he held since 1978. He was first a Long-Term Visitor and then a Senior Scientist at the Advanced Science Program (ASP) of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) at Boulder, Colorado. From 1978, he was a Senior Scientist at the Mesoscale Research Section of the Mesoscale Microscale Meteorology Division of NCAR. Jack was Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Advanced Study Program at NCAR, a Green Scholar at the University of California, San Diego, and Professeur associ??? ??? l'lnstitut de M???canique de Grenoble. He served on the Advisory Board of Editors for Meteorology and Oceanography, World Scientific Publishing Co., was an Associate Editor of Physics of Fluids , and was an Associate of the La Jolla Institute.
