Duban chose the 'new monuments' of his time - Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Madeleine church - and presented them in extraordinarily decorative color frames. The sophisticated presentation of this book has preserved the spirit of the nineteenth century royal albums and Sylvain Bellenger provides a wonderful introduction to a very special romantic style of decoration and architecture.
