Doug Robertson is a career classroom teacher He has taught in California, Hawaii, and Oregon in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. Thus far in his career he's had four student teachers, and is about to welcome two more into his room. In addition to teaching, Doug speaks at teaching conferences and runs school- and district-wide professional developments. He is known generally as The Weird Teacher, a nickname given to him by two kindergarteners. Doug currently resides just outside of Portland, OR with his understanding wife, two energetic children, and vaguely apathetic dog. When not teaching, writing, parenting, or husbanding Doug sleeps, listens to the rock and roll music on his record player, or rides his motorcycle. He is the author of two other education books, He's the Weird Teacher and THE Teaching Text (You're Welcome), and one novel, The Unforgiving Road. If you haven't read those you should, they're great.
