Karthik Kannan is currently serving as a Research Faculty member in the Advanced Institute of Manufacturing, High-tech Innovations Center, Mechanical Engineering Department at National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan. Additionally, he holds the position of Distinguished Adjunct Faculty at Saveetha Institute of Technical and Medical Sciences in India and serves as an Associate Science and Technical Advisor at the Australian Center for Sustainable Development Research & Innovation (ACSDRI) in South Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Karthik Kannan has actively contributed to editorial board activities, including serving as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and as an Editorial Board Member for journals such as Microbial Biotechnology, Frontiers in Energy Research, Hydrogen, Current Nanoscience, and Journal of Polymer Materials. He is also a Youth Editorial Board Member for Advanced Manufacturing: Polymers and Composite Science and an Early Career Editorial Board Member for Energy Engineering. Furthermore, he has contributed as a Topical Advisory Panel Member for ChemEngineering and as a Lead Guest Editor for IOP Nano Express, MDPI Materials, and MDPI Hydrogen. Dr. Karthik Kannan is the author and co-author of over 160 research articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, with more than 6,587 citations (as of March 2025, according to Google Scholar). His h-index is 55, and his i10-index is 115. He is also the editor of a book titled 2D Nanomaterials for CO2 Conversion into Chemicals and Fuels, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Additionally, he has authored and co-authored over 20 book chapters and 10 conference proceedings, and he holds an Indian patent. Dr. Karthik Kannan was awarded the prestigious "Brain Pool (BP) Program" Postdoctoral Fellowship by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) for his project, Research on Perovskite-based 2D Nano-sheet Composites for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation. Recognized by Stanford University as one of the top 2% of scientists worldwide for the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, Dr. Kannan's research interests include the fabrication of 2D materials, bimetallic and trimetallic nanocomposites for practical applications in supercapacitors, carbon dioxide conversion, and biomedicine. He has also developed 2D-based nanocomposite catalysts for photocatalytic and electrocatalytic hydrogen production. See less
