Dr. Martin Holtz attained his Ph.D. degree at Greifswald University (Germany) in the subject of North American Studies in 2009 with the thesis "American Cinema in Transition: The Western in New Hollywood and Hollywood Now" (summa cum laude), which was published in 2011.
