Tom McConnell
Tom McConnell is a native of northern Indiana, and at the time of this publication, he is a science teacher educator at Ball State University. Tom has been playing the dulcimer since 1994. Almost right away, Tom started "noodling" around and finding new melodies. Tom also plays guitar and ukulele. Tom McConnell is a native of northern Indiana, and at the time of this publication, he is a science teacher educator at Ball State University. Tom has been playing the dulcimer since 1994. Almost right away, Tom started "noodling" around and finding new melodies. Tom also plays guitar and ukulele. He has written over 50 original songs, including some recorded for his first CD, "Playing from the Heart," which was released in 2001. Not long after, Tom returned to graduate school. He continued playing, though music took a back seat to school and work. After graduating and eventually ending in his current post, he began attending jams and clinics at Folkcraft Instruments, in Woodburn, Indiana. Tom now plays monthly with two clubs, Black Swamp Jam and TRU Ukes. He's also offering lessons for dulcimer and ukulele, and is recording a new album of original songs.
