Tom Towslee was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in the small Oregon coast town of Tillamook. He went to the University of Oregon and graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. Tom Towslee was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in the small Oregon coast town of Tillamook. He went to the University of Oregon and graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. After graduating, Towslee worked as newspaper and wire service reporter in Oregon and Washington, D.C. Since leaving journalism, he has been a public affairs director for a state-owned insurance company and the press secretary for one of Oregon's governors. He has also served as state communications director for a United States senator. He currently holds position of interim communications director for the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.
