Delicious Writing
This book is one of my all-time favorites which I read over and over and over. It is a story of a historic city and the quirky people who keep it going. Berendt goes to Savannah to write about a rich man's party and stays to investigate further when the gentleman murders his boyfriend house guest. It is a fascinating read made even better by a well-made movie which brings the real-life characters into sharper focus. Voodoo, cotillans, mint juleps and a transvestite--it is Southern living at its best.
