If you want to truly understand Python, there is no other book to touch this one. Though it claims to be aimed at novice programmers, it really isn't. If you're new to Python, start somewhere else.
For folks with one or two other programming languages under their belts, or a decent background in computer science or software engineering, this book is the one to go for.
